Packaging Printing - Selling products begin with selling packaging
Package printing is printing that is done on packaging - those everyday boxes, displays, and packages that you see sitting on store shelves, counters, end-aisles in supermarkets, novelty shops and big box stores.
If you're going to sell something, it needs a package.

That's where we come in. If you've created the perfect package design, our job is to make sure it prints to the highest standards possible. And no job is too complicated for us to handle.

From insert cards, clamshell cards, header cards and stickers to floor displays, counter displays and custom die-cut packaging, we print it. If package printing involves cans, plastics, glass and other materials, we're the ones you want to work with. Why? That's the reason Canadian Printing Brokers is in business. People not only love the work we do, but they also get the service they're looking for, specialization skills, experience and exceptional pricing.

Packaging Design Tips

1. Market Research
Go shopping and look over the competition. If you see something that appeals to you, study it and make it better. By finding the weak elements of your competitor's packaging design you can create something with more impact.

2. Target Your Market
Again, research is key. If you're going to market a product, you need to know who you're marketing to. Design your packaging accordingly. It's true that some big box stores have strict design rules on what they will and won't allow on their shelves, but if you can plead your case properly and you have a sample package to back it up, you can still get it on their shelves.

3. Branding Is Vital
Don't forget that your branding is the key to your next sale. If your product is good, people will pay more attention to your logo whenever you come to market with a new product.

4. Product Scanning
People scan the shelves. Some scan consciously while others scan with less interest. Your product has to stand out. Again, go shopping. See the colour schemes that your competition is using and use design colours that allow your product to pass the fast scan test. In a quick glance down the isle, your product should jump out. You only have a few seconds to grab the attention of shopping aisle traffic!

5. The Headline
It is and always will be a key ingredient to establishing your product and its benefits. The headline font on your packaging should work to attract the target market you're after. Fonts speak emotionally. You have fun fonts, serious fonts, business fonts and so on. For example: If you're selling a board game, chances are you want a strong font that embodies a sense of fun. And don't forget the sub-headline. This is often the "closer" that reveals the wonderful benefits of the product.

6. White Space
Let your images breath. and use text sparingly. List the benefits with bullets, but not too many. Break up your packaging into simple areas of information. Headline...Sub-Headline...Benefits....Image Area....Short descriptive "romance text" to raise the level of excitement. If you make your packaging look cluttered, people just get overwhelmed trying to find the key information.

7. Green Is In
Embrace the movement towards a greener, cleaner planet. Look for ways to reduce your product's carbon emissions. Use recycled paper, popcorn or biodegradable products as inner packing, plant-based inks etc. Shoppers are more receptive if they feel your brand will give them what they want while at the same time, making them feel guilt-free on how they will impact the world when using your product and discarding the packaging.

8. Quality Is In The Design
The value quotient is a vital ingredient in the package design. People want to feel that they are buying a quality product regardless of the price. Design is what establishes a product's quality quotient. A classy, well designed, properly printed package says VALUE, especially when there is a low price attached. Use the proper printing methods for clean and punchy packaging.
